Another letdown from Buhari - Ibrahim Salisu Gimba

Hadiza Bala Usman has been with Nasiru El-Rufai from his days in BPE,to FCT and government house Kaduna state. He recommended her to Hon Minister Rotimi Amaechi for the position of Managing Director, Nigerian Ports Authority, the third biggest revenue generating agency after NNPC and Customs.
Amaechi sought the permission of President Muhammadu Buhari,who happened to be a very close friend to Hadiza's father,Dr Yusuf Bala Usman from same Katsina state as Mr president. Looking at the Executive Directors that will work under 40 years old Hadiza,namely, Mohammed Bello-Koko, Executive Director, Finance; Prof. Idris Abubakar, Executive Director, Engineering; and Dr. Sekonte Davies, Executive Director, Marine Operations,most of them professors and seasoned technocrats, you will know Hadiza's appointment could have nothing to do with merit. She is appointed based on her closeness to, and relationship with powers that be. Cronyism and nepotism are once again at work. Another trait of our new provincial leader after that of Goodluck Jonathan. While the CBN,FIRS and other agencies are doing their own recruitment in secret with tacit support of the President, the president is also doing his own in the open, forgetting those children of the poor he promised to provide jobs during his campaign days.They are the ones that braved the odds to make him what he is today.
