English Premier League Top Clubs Spent $1.4bn In Summer Transfer



The 20 English Premier League clubs spend $1.4 billion in the Summer Transfer that closed on Wednesday

However, only two clubs-Everton and Southampton made profit at the end of the transfer in which four clubs, Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea dominated the market spending $706.2 million. The four clubs each exceeded $100 million mark.


Manchester City topped the list with $237.6 million; Manchester United are second spending $185 million; Chelsea are third with $157.6 million and Arsenal are fourth coughing out $126 million.
In total 13 Premier League clubs broke their transfer record fee for a single player this summer as all but two spent more than their incomings and the 20 clubs spent a whooping record $1.4 billion.


Tottenham also spent $92 million with Liverpool dishing out $89.1 million, while Leicester City spent $83.1 million.
However, Everton made a profit of $1.6 million having spent $60.4 million and sold $62 million. Southampton made the biggest profit of $ 26.7 million having spent $57.9 million and sold players worth $84.6 million.
