Kaduna Government sets up White Paper Drafting Committee Over Zaria clash

Kaduna State government has set up a 9-man committee to draft the White Paper on the report of the Judicial Commission of Inquiry into the Zaria clashes between the Nigerian Army and the members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, in Zaria, in December 2015.
A statement signed by the Special Assistant to governor El-Rufai on media and publicity, Mr. Samuel Aruwan and made available to newsmen in Kaduna Wednesday, said the 9-man committee was chaired by Adamu Mohammed Mansur, the permanent secretary, Ministry of Education, Kaduna State.

The statement explained that the committee was expected to submit a draft White Paper within the next two weeks.
Receiving the report, Governor Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai said that the Kaduna State Government would study the report and issue a White Paper promptly to convey its decisions on the recommendations of the Commission.
The statement said the other members of the White Paper Drafting Committee are Hauwa U. Umar Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Kaduna and Bari’atu Yusuf Mohammed Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works, Housing and Transport, Kaduna.
Others according to the statement include Ibrahim Sambo, Permanent Secretary, Ministry for Local Government, Kaduna, Ja’afaru Ibrahim Sani, Permanent Secretary Cabinet Affairs and Special Services, Kaduna, ‎Aisha Kumbo Mohammed Permanent Secretary, Solicitor-General and Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice, Kaduna.
The statement added that Ambisa Adze Jonah, Permanent Secretary, Civil Service Commission, Kaduna Barrister M.I Aliyu, Ministry of Justice, Kaduna and Alexander K. Sule Office of the Secretary to the State government are als o membrts of the committee.
The terms of reference guiding the committee include to study the recommendations of the Report of the Judicial Commission and produce a white paper on the report.
To make any other recommendation(s) that will assist Government in addressing issues raised in the report.
The committee according to the statement is expected to conclude the task and submit a report to the government within two weeks from its first day of sitting.
